Reliability and Security
Three levels of solid protection are offered with ESET’s software. Here’s how they work: First, the software will check a file to see if it is registered as a virus on the database. Then, the antivirus checks the code for anything suspicious and continues to monitor the behavior of the file. Finally, the software helps the system to detect and record the details if the inspected file is malicious.
This program also uses heuristic scanning and monitoring, which is a common technique among antiviruses to look for signs of cyber-attacks.
According to the AV-Test company, ESET scored 100% in detecting brand new zero-day threats in September 2017. This antivirus is great at identifying known types of viruses, as seen by its test scores from 99.7 % to 99.9 %.
AV-Comparatives tested ESET in malware detection, and this software ranged from 98.4 % to 99.7% in malware detection. AV-Comparatives rates ESET with an advanced rating.
ESET protects its users against malware, ransomware, phishing, and it does a great job guarding against all three.
Performance
ESET may slow down your computer a bit more than some of its competitors, but this is not a terrible flaw. For example, depending on how many files you have, your first scan may take up to thirty minutes. The good news is, the scans after the first scan are quicker since ESET will know which files and data are clear.
Unfortunately, there are no quick scan features, although you can download an online scanner from ESET.
Ease of Use
One perk we love about ESET is how easy it is to use. When you purchase your version of this software, you will download and install onto to your PC. The interface of the program is very intuitive. The installation and setup processes are easy and simple.
Interface
The interface is clean and bright, blue and white! (How’s that for a fun rhyme?)
ESET’s robot mascot greets you every time you open the software with a “You are protected” sign. All the categories are on the left side of the page, and you can start a scan by clicking on the category you want to scan: memory, boot sector, external, or internal drive.
The Update section will inform you about the current versions of databases and scanning engines. The “Tools” section will show you all of ESET’s tools. The “More Tools” button is to check even additional features.
Available Packages
There are currently three versions of ESET antivirus available for Windows users. Here are each of them in detail:

Customer Service and Support
ESET has been around for a while, so they have good customer service and support. Their website is full of information, including a FAQ section where you should be able to find answers to all your questions.
If you need to talk to a customer support representative, you can call them from 6 AM to 5 AM Monday through Friday. They also offer email support if you would rather email.
Pros and Cons
Every antivirus has pros and cons, so don’t let cons scare you off. It is important to take them into consideration, but if the pros outweigh the cons, then that’s a plus! Here is what we like and don’t like about ESET:
